Geneacta on your phone

Install the site as an app: an icon on your home screen, full screen, with no app store involved.

Android (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)

  1. Open the browser menu (the three dots).
  2. Choose “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”.
  3. Confirm: the Geneacta icon joins your apps.

iPhone and iPad (Safari)

  1. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Scroll to “Add to Home Screen”.
  3. Tap “Add” in the top right.

On iPhone, installing only works from Safari: other browsers have no access to it.

Why not an app to download?

Because it would be the same site, twice as fragile. An app installed from the browser shows exactly the same pages, updates itself, and asks your phone for no special permission.

  • A word when the network drops — rather than an error page — or worse, a stale tree shown as if it were current.
  • Always current — no update to install: what you see is today's version.
  • A few kilobytes — installing does not copy the app onto your phone, it places a shortcut.
